Bodymapped insulation for innovative temperature control

Trapped body heat is the best insulation. The AREAS team has therefore developed an innovative material structure to combine the advantages of seamless constructions with high heat retention. This permits a three-dimensional, baggy surface structure in which heated air is trapped in so-called “buffer cones”, thus generating a buffer zone. Unlike conventional fleece materials, the thickness of the structure can be adjusted as desired. Body mapping thus reaches a new level.

Buffer Shell

Buffer Shell combines the advantages of the new buffer cone technology with various wind- or water-repellent outer layers, thus forming a high-tech modular system that can be incorporated into the clothing depending on the desired functionality.

Buffer Shell Bs1

Buffer Shell BS1 is a 2-layer fabric system with a waterrepellant, high-elastic, knitted outer surface.

Buffer Shell Bs2

BS2 is based on the BS1 construction including on top a waterproof membrane between the 2-layer.

Buffer Shell Bs3

A 3-layer construction with a waterproof membrane and a 2-way stretch woven outer surface.

Buffer Shell Bs4

This 3-layer system with membrane and woven outer surface, makes BS4 absolut waterproof, resistant and durable, while still allowing air exchange.
